USB headphones and volume

Ringing in USB headphones is very quiet. I can barely hear the ringing tone.
When the call is connected the volume is extremely loud. Loudness is at minimum and cannot be set lower but the sound is very loud and can be set only louder not quietter.
Is there a way to change this?

When using headphones to play music, the volume can be controlled normally.

This is a known issue and has been discussed here before. Shift is aware, but it is unknown when a fix will be available.
Please consider searching the forum before opening new threads. Chances are your questions have already been addressed elsewhere.

@thor_n Are the volume controls better when you enable/disable absolute volume under System > Developer options? You may first need to tap Build number seven times under About phone to unlock the Developer options.

SHIFTphone 8  Thema 'Probleme mit kabelgebundenen Headsets'

Hallo Zusammen,

meine Frau und ich sind seit Ende Mai stolze Besitzer*Innen von zwei Shiftphones 8.1.

Neben den üblichen Macken der Geräte haben wir noch folgendes Problem bei beiden Handys, zu dem ich keinen Thread gefunden habe:

Wenn wir kabelgebundene Headsets ( wir benutzen nur die kabelgebundene Variante) an das Shiftphone 8.1 anschließen, um zu telefonieren können wir diese nicht nutzen, da diese so laut sind, dass die Kopfhörer nicht nutzbar sind ohne die Ohren zu schädigen.
Das Seltsame ist, dass die Lautstärkeanzeige mit dem Telefonsymbol komplett runtergedreht ist und nur noch...

Found this "Disable absolute volume" under Developer options. I was off.
Now I'm testing it with on. Will see if anything changes (it says bluetooth in description)

"Disable absolute volume" has absolutely no effect on headphones' volume.

This hack works (for now): Bernie24's tip.
It's not solution but allows for using wired headphones: don't use lowest level of volume. Try something higher - it may be bearable.
