Postmarket OS

Hello, new here!

I'd like to have some general understanding about how to port postmarket OS to shiftphone 8.

As far as I understand, shiftphone 8 has mainline linux support. If so, what hinders postmarket OS to run out of box on shiftphone 8? If there is something I may be capable to help I'd be glad to do it in my spare time.

I am guessing here, but so far work on the SoC used by the Shiftphone8 has been done by Fairphone on the upstream kernel, but their device is slightly different to the Shift8.
If you check out https://github.com/sc7280-mainline/linux/pull/8 , work is being done, but hasn't reached the upstream mainline kernel just yet.

https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Fairphone_5_(fairphone-fp5) isn't yet suitable as a daily driver either.
Both devices are getting there.
