Hello every one,
I do have a question : I installed /e/os and all seems working fine except the "custom key" on the left of the phone. Any idea how to set it up? Is it even recognized by /e/os?

The finger print is well recognized (and used) on my SF8 with /e/os. I had to set it up at the begining (during the install process). I had to flash my finger several times then on the side...

Its not even working on the ShiftOS by itself. I use keymapper from fdroid, very nice, but for some functions u have to have root access, so i'd prefere the propper solution in the long run

For now all is fine except 1 thing : some times the screen freezes (becomes black) and I can't do anything but hard restart the phone (long press on the power button). Anyone else have that? If yes, did you find the reason and how to fix that?

Bootloader muss meines Verständnisses immer gelockt werden, bevor ein Fingerabdruck registriert werden kann.
 
Klar ist das gut beschrieben (ist ja auch nicht allzu kompliziert). Letzter Punkt in der Anleitung.

Mich würde eher interessieren, wie du @MisterMysterioso von der iodéGSI auf das /e/OS wechseln konntest. Kannst du dafür kurz einen Guide geben?

Ja, ich habe nur gedacht, dass dies nicht nötig sei bzw. noch später gemacht werden könnte. Nun habe ich noch das Problem, dass sich die LED manchmal über den Powerknopf ungewollt einschaltet. Aber das werde ich wohl auch noch lösen. ;)
 
Ansich funktioniert /e/OS/ nun gut, aber manchmal stürzt das Handy ab dh. das Handy wird schwarz und lässt sich dann nicht mehr einschalten. Erst ein sehr langes drücken des Anschaltknopfes führt dann zu einem Neustart des Handys.

Hi,
I do have exactly the same issue. Sometimes, the phone turns black. The only solution to restart it is long press on the power button. I changed the launcher to see if it was the reason, but no.
I noticed it is often when the phone goes to standby if i press the power buton at that precise moment, then it blacks out.
If you find the solution, let me know, i'd be happy to solve that.
Otherwise the /e/OS works fine and i'm very happy with the OS and the ShiftPhone8 !
